Wedding plans and other changes.

Much activity this morning as Sam, Bec and Maddie did the
preliminary wedding flower shopping at the markets.

The plan was to see what could be sourced next year, at this
time of the Summer season.

They are doing the wedding bouquet, the bridesmaids posies,
and the boutonnieres. There are other plans for the wedding
arbour outside, and the table decorations.

While roaming around with the camera, I thought I'd take some
shots of our new dining room gallery decor. I'm in two minds as
to whether to do a feature colour wall behind the tribal art.

A lot of it belongs to our son Ben, but it will survive better like
this for the time being.

We are currently inundated with various vases of flowers and foliage. This is in our dining area.
Currently using the Australiana tablecloth, but a tad too busy a design for all the art.

Gordon helped me finish putting up the tribal art on the wall. This big mask was quite heavy.
It has a native spear and canoe paddle below. Also, just below is a nearly antique demijohn that once held Prickly Pear Poison. The 2 pictures to the right are mine. A mixed media and gouache
of a Balinese girl, and a central Australian landscape in Pastel.

This top picture needs rewrapping, it is too big to afford framing. There is a very nice
Aboriginal artwork below that Mum gave me.

I find the fine detail in this work amazing.

A potentially quite valuable Elwynn Lyn. I think it is the best one I have seen, his work
can be quite coarse and macho. This is sensitive, and has lovely naturalistic elements.
In fact so natural that the wasps used to come in and make mud nests on the plank of wood!

This mask has a carved bird with wings outstretched, and shells for eyes. Hard to
believe it was thrown out for council cleanup. It is the second one I have rescued.

My 'Frangipanni Pop'. I think the inspiration for this came from growing up with a
vintage oil  painting of a Balinese girl. She can be seen on previous Blogs.

This is our dining alcove. It's a bit cramped, but wall space is hard to get in
this house, being interrupted with many windows or doorways.

The 2 artworks on the far left are mine. Aboriginal children in a limited pastel palette.

Details of the rainforest composition, and also the aboriginal work.

This spear is very old, and is made from bamboo. It has a scratched in design.

The French Surrealist work by Spiro. Popular with all my children.
It has amazing detail, but needs a good clean.
