Excursion to see the ancestor's church.

The Rev. Frank Cash has been well documented as a chronicler of the Sydney Harbour Bridge being built, with his photography and a book being written, while his parish members were being severely affected by loss of income, homes and relocation.
His church is at Lavender Bay. I went on a guided history tour from Nth Sydney which showed this area and told some tales of him. He has been also included as a character in a novel, and a movie, fictionalized. He is a cousin on my (maternal) Grandfather's side.

There is a charming selection of small sculptures of literary characters on the walk
along the bay to the back of Luna Park.

Convict hewn sandstone blocks, looking for the shells in the lime mortar.

Inside detail in the kitchen of the observatory.

Camera pics

Here is a selection of camera pics. I'm a spontaneous photographer, although I studied Photography with my art courses I'm not too fussed on the technical.

Both my parents were professional standard photographers, my Dad to the level of writer on technique and photographic judge.

Not me. Later these pics sometimes become reference for artworks.

My Bec on our 'Girl's Road Trip', we did a walk at a nature park, the best treasures
of the day were Peacock feathers.

Study in greys, my monochromatic cat, a silver tabby.

An Eastern Water Dragon, nice water reflections.

My Sam, a nice shadow silhouette on the wall.

Pictures through windows I find interesting.

Some more pics

Here are some more pics, what will I do next? Decisions, decisions. I'm more of a drawer than a painter, love structural stuff, sculpture, assemblage. Enjoyed in recent years recycled artwork, collage and papier mache.

What Next?

Am in a phase of creative block, not too serious, but still lacking direction. I'm going through the motions, but nothing quite 'it' yet.

Here are some previous artworks while I ponder. As you can see over the years have done a variety of media and subject matter.

Really like nature, and figurative with some design and stronger colour thrown in.

The printmaking I am doing now, is very experimental, and brings up interesting textures.

Bird Lady

Well there seems to be a recurring theme with my art.

Birds.

Don't know how or why this happened but there it is. For our last Printmaking exhibition I did a year of Bowerbirds. What is my favourite book currently -  Bowerbird by Sibella Court.

I do live in a wonderful bushland environment, bird life is abundant. We have 2 birdbaths to enjoy them.
I used to be a Foster Care and Rescuer for WIRES, and apart from possums, mainly looked after birds.

That was many years ago, but for the more recent years I have had a small group of chickens. Chinese Silky Bantams, very funny little chickens with different personalities.

I hear birds all day long, and at night the nocturnal ones too. Here are some of my bird artworks in various media.
