Exciting sighting

I have not seen this species often in 35 years here. This Green Tree Snake
maybe only 4 times. This one however, was there for so long and so close,
my daughter Rebecca got lots of good shots.

Other snakes seen here: one meeting and relocation of a White Crown Snake,
and often Red Belly Snakes.

The Red Bellies are too close for comfort, visiting my pond to feast, so the
pond is going. It will be replaced by a paved area and a smaller trickling
water pot.

It seemed quite curious about us too, we got to see it from our pool deck.

The many positions it could form it's body into was quite amazing.
Doubling back on itself, and pushing itself vertically.

Gracefully gliding along many types of foliage and tree trunk,
even rough, coarse ones like the palm tree.

A close up shot of the beautiful snake skin.

We have seen them move as quick as a flash, but this one was taking it's time, exploring.

  1. What a special sighting! I've recently had a visit from a BIG goanna - will post pics in my next blog post. We're both so fortunate to be close to such amazing wildlife!
