A calm change

There's something unique about the Hawkesbury, different to other
waterways. More natural, untouched largely, still with broad areas of
green.

It has the same magical, relaxing power that water conveys. I've seen
it in many lights and dull greys and rain.

Planes of greys, misty and retreating. Sparkling waters, rimmed by
sandstone rocks and mighty escarpments. Mangroves and rising treed
hills.

Eagles soaring overhead, pelicans passing over.

Lots of photos of trips here, not too far from home. Little jaunts on small
historic ferries out to Dangar Island. Brooklyn, Mooney Mooney, Cowan,
Muogamarra - the places around here. This is Parsley Bay.

How do you draw a hill that is so busy with masses of trees, rocks, shadows,
and detail? I decided the stars were the boats, the scenery the peaceful
background setting.

The original inspiration.

Details of the hillside and the boats, one catamaran, one yacht. Lovely nautical colours.

The final pic, some sky is missing from here, it's actually better
balanced equally with sky and water than shown.
