Excursion to see the ancestor's church.

The Rev. Frank Cash has been well documented as a chronicler of the Sydney Harbour Bridge being built, with his photography and a book being written, while his parish members were being severely affected by loss of income, homes and relocation.
His church is at Lavender Bay. I went on a guided history tour from Nth Sydney which showed this area and told some tales of him. He has been also included as a character in a novel, and a movie, fictionalized. He is a cousin on my (maternal) Grandfather's side.

There is a charming selection of small sculptures of literary characters on the walk
along the bay to the back of Luna Park.

Convict hewn sandstone blocks, looking for the shells in the lime mortar.

Inside detail in the kitchen of the observatory.

Aerial view of some of the observatory outbuildings.
