A short holiday

We had a short stay away at Port Macquarie, followed by a couple of

days in Barrington, with a view to see Barrington Tops National Park.

We did a rainforest boardwalk in The Rainforest Centre in Port Macquarie.

A remnant area of coastal rainforest, which is lush and amazing to experience.

The boardwalk is well constructed and easy to walk as it is level.
You are elevated above the forest floor.

It is cool and dense, except where sunlight has penetrated from fallen trees,
leaving a gap in the canopy.

The arboreal growing habit of the Elkhorns is interesting, and some specimens were very large.

There were strangler figs wrapped around tree trunks.

Native palms were in proliferation.
